Helping police with their enquiries: CITS Police Training Event

Our partnership with the police has always been central to what we do here at TVL – the work we’ve done together has been vital to protecting people against vehicle and tool theft. So, we’re thrilled to be able to play our part when it comes to helping frontline police teams crack down on construction site theft and rural crime, too.

On June 6, our Brentwood HQ will host a police training day, organised by the National Construction and Agricultural Theft Team (NCATT) and supported by Combined Industries Theft Solutions (CITS). Designed to strengthen the response to rural crime and thieves targeting construction sites, this is set to be a vital and productive knowledge-sharing event, bringing together industry experts and those on the frontline, including officers, PCSOs and police staff from Essex, Hertfordshire, London, Surrey, Kent and Sussex.

Keeping the professionals informed, keeping you safe

Attendees will hear talks from leading figures including DS Chris Piggott, the police liaison team for CESAR (the Construction & Agricultural Equipment Security And Registration scheme), plus security heads from The Clancy Group, J. Murphy & Sons, and Leica Geosystems.

Covering everything from how to detect local criminal networks to the latest theft trends and intelligence, as well as expert tips on identifying and recovering stolen plant and machinery, there’ll be a lot to pack in, but we’re also looking forward to finding out more about the CESAR scheme and the RAPID (Registered Assets Police Information Database) app – a vital tool that helps police quickly verify high-risk equipment.

And, of course, there’ll be time to mix and chat with everyone there and cement the working relationships that are so crucial to what we do. Initiatives like this help ensure frontline officers have the tools, skills and insight they need to keep you safe, and we’re really proud to do our bit to help.

If you’re a police office, PCSO, or police staff and would like to attend (we’re even laying on breakfast, lunch and refreshments as well!) then contact [email protected]. Don’t leave it too long as places are limited, with just 80 spaces available.

We hope to see you there.
